We invite you to use our website to help your child be successful during their elementary educational experience. On our website, you will be able to access the Georgia Performance Standards that we are focusing on each grade, helpful websites, and great pictures of our students.
Lee County Elementary School follows the curriculum mandated by the state of Georgia, called the Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE). See this site for more information: https://www.georgiastandards.org. Our behavior curriculum is called Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports or PBIS. Students are taught behavioral expectations and rewarded for the wonderful behavior that they display. Students are featured on our morning show each week for their positive behavior.
Classes
Students change classes in each grade level between a team of teachers. The “departmentalized” classes allow teachers to focus their instruction on a limited subject matter in which they are able to share engaging lessons that meet the needs of students across all ability levels.
Grading
The grading system for Lee County Elementary School is as follows:
- A = 90-100
- B = 80-89
- C = 70-79
- F = Below 70 (All grades below 70 are considered failing grades.)
The Georgia Milestones is a comprehensive summative assessment program spanning grades 3 through high school. Georgia Milestones measures how well students have learned the knowledge and skills outlined in the state-adopted content standards in language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Students in grades 3 through 8 will take an end-of-grade assessment in each content area designated by the State Board of Education. Please click here for more information.
